Blennies are mainly herbivorous, using their comb-like teeth to scrape algae from the substrate, and usually live in small holes, into which they retreat tail first at any hint of danger. Most are small fishes reaching 5-10 cm in length, but the Hairtail Blenny can reach 50 cm or more. Source : Swainston’s Fishes of Australia |
