Most Anglerfishes grow to 10-20 cm with the largest attaining 40 cm in length. Anglerfishes are ambush predators and use their esca (which can resemble a small fish,worm or amphipod) as a lure to attract other fishes which they engulf with a lightning-fast lunge. |
