Notes

Most Bristlemouths are pelagic in deep water from 200 to 2 000 m but some have been found at depths to 5 000m. Most are only 6-7 cm length but their abundance means they are major consumers of zooplankton in deeper waters. They are also an important food source for many predatory deepwater fishes.
