The West Australian Dhufish is reported to grow to 1.25 m in length and weigh up to 32 kg, and is one of the most highly sought-after food fishes in Australian waters. It inhabits deep rocky reefs. Large individuals are territorial and will take up residence in a particular area, moving into shallower waters to spawn in summer.
