Lungfishes are amongst the most ancient of all living vertebrates and have remained almost unchanged for over 100 million years. They are the only fishes that possess functional lungs as well as gills.This slow moving fish grows to 2 m in length, and can live to be at least 100 years old. They feed nocturnally on frogs, small fishes, worms, snails, crustaceans.
