Leftvents are pelagic in midwater from 1000 to 4000 m and are found in the Atlantic, Indian and Pacific oceans. Amount the other deepsea anglerfishes which are all black or dark brown in colour, the Soft Leftvent Angler is unique in having no pigment whatsoever in the skin.
