Shovelnose Rays can attain lengths of 2.7 m. They are found right around the Australian coast, from very shallow beaches, mudflats and mangroves to depths of several hundred metres. They are opportunistic bottom feeders, preying on crustaceans, molluscs and other invertebrates.
